Position Summary
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Research Scientist will be part of the neuroepigenetics research team, focusing on hormonal and environmental factors driving sex differences in depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders.
This position involves characterizing molecular and cellular changes in the human and rodent brain across different reproductive states and across sexes, utilizing advanced epigenomics techniques and bioinformatics data analyses. The incumbent performs bioinformatics analyses of various genomics datasets and interprets data.
Essential Functions
Analyzes genomics experiments including single-cell multiome ATAC-seq/RNA-seq, and cell-type specific ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, Hi-C, and Micro-C assays;
Leads the dry lab team and is involved in data maintenance, data submission, and communication with the sequencing cores and other bioinformatics teams;
Analyzes and interprets data, performs conference presentations, and prepares manuscripts.
Attends meetings with lab members and collaborators, and mentors undergraduate and graduate students.

Required Qualifications:
PhD in biological sciences, computational biology, bioinformatics, or related field.Good communication skills
Ability to work well independently and with others.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in molecular and computational biology, and neuroscience.
Experience in the analysis of transcriptomics and epigenomics data.
