Description:
Baylor University seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position within the Department of Biology at the Assistant Professor level effective Fall 2026. We seek outstanding candidates with broadly defined research experience in Microbial Physiology, Microbiology, Microbiome Sciences, Microbial Biochemistry, Pathogen Biology, or a related field. Applicants should plan research focused on microbial metabolism, biomolecular activities, interactions, and/or regulation. The successful applicant will demonstrate a productive record of scholarship in one of the focal areas, embrace an interdisciplinary research and teaching environment and develop new collaborations within and beyond Baylor University. The position is a 10-month assignment through the academic year.

Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in Biology, Microbiology, or a related field is required.
- Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
- Sustained record of research accomplishment is preferred.
- Demonstrated potential for success generating and maintaining extramural funding commensurate with their career stage is preferred.
- Successful applicants must be interested in teaching undergraduate and graduate students, providing research mentorship, and contributing to our doctoral programs.
