Join a research project focused on the role of drought and grazing on the formation of bare patches in mixed grass rangeland near Boulder Colorado. Collect and analyze data concerning spatial patterning of abiotic factors (soil moisture, temperature) and biotic factors (species composition, bare ground, seedling recruitment) over time.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  1. Collect and analyze data concerning spatial patterning of abiotic factors (soil moisture, temperature) and biotic factors (species composition, bare ground, seedling recruitment) over time
  2. Supervising and training research assistants
  3. Coordinating with community partners
  4. Writing results for publication

What We Require

  • PhD in ecology, experience in rangeland ecology, including plant species identification in mixed grass prairies and soils work.


What You Will Need

  • Knowledge of plant species in mixed-grasslands, knowledge of belowground processes and measurements, knowledge of spatial analytical tools, experience working with local community partners, demonstrated writing and analysis skills, including publications.
